Skimming Stones by Laura Tulloch

Fabric designer Laura Tulloch launched Skimming Stones in 2018. Specialising in interior fabrics the designs aim to bring harmony and calmness to your home.

I love all things interiors and have always felt a home is a place of sanctuary, a place to relax after a long day. My aim is to help you create your own sanctuary with lots of gorgeous materials.

With a background in publishing, I took a career break to bring up my young family. During this time I pursued a number of creative interests before focusing on fabric design. I always dreamed of running my own business and after completing several surface pattern design courses, I founded my online shop selling beautiful fabric designs to both general public and trade customers.

My designs are all hand drawn and inspired nature, family holidays and where I live. Described by some as calming and quiet, the collections offer a range of patterns in different colour ways which provides ample mix and match possibilities.

The name comes from my childhood, many happy memories skimming stones across St Margarets’s Loch in Edinburgh - my home city. It’s also where I feel most relaxed by water - be it a river, loch or the sea.

I am now working on my fourth collection due out later this year. 

Skimming Stones designs are suitable for a variety of uses including soft furnishings, wallpaper, apparel and accessories.
